The Mayor of Lynnwood and the Director of the Snohomish Health District among the winners of the Snohomish County Leadership Awards
Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith, Snohomish Health District Director of Public Affairs Heather Thomas and the Everett Clinic were among the winners of the awards earlier this month at the county’s Leadership Day 2021 virtual event. by Snohomish (LSC).
The 6th annual Leadership Day event, LSC’s largest fundraiser, raised over $ 33,000 for the organization as it nears its 25th anniversary. Three awards were presented: the Deborah Knutson Award for Women in Leadership 2021, the LSC 2021 Award for Community Partner and the LSC 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award.
Leadership Snohomish County is a non-profit organization committed to developing sustainable, county-specific leaders to strengthen communities.
The 2021 LSC Community Partner Award was presented at the Everett Clinic.
“They continue to work to ensure that equity is central to defining quality care and delivery,” LSC Executive Director Kathy Solberg said during the award ceremony. “This ties into all the ways the Everett Clinic invests not only in the health of its business model, but also in the health of our community. “
The 2021 Deborah Knutson Women in Leadership Award was presented to Mayor Nicola Smith of the Town of Lynnwood. Solberg and Erin Williams, daughter of the late Deborah Knutson, presented the award in person as a surprise at Lynnwood Town Hall. The surprise was filmed and can be viewed on the Town of Lynnwood YouTube page.
The LSC Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to Heather Thomas, Public Affairs Manager at the Snohomish Health District
“Heather leads with a heart, sees the world through a lens of compassion, and has a work ethic that rivals many I’ve seen,” Solberg said. “LSC celebrates and wants Heather to know that she’s seen doing all of this during times of COVID.”
