Pete Coolio, a Peachland District Councilor, has been censored by his fellow Councilors for improper actions towards District Director General Joe Mitchell.

The inappropriate behavior occurred during a meeting between the two men on June 16.

“During the meeting, the counselor. Coolio attempted to use his office as an elected official to persuade the CAO to sign a document that would approve an existing unauthorized terrace on a property he was involved in selling, ”said a report delivered to Peachland council on Tuesday. . “The CAO refused to sign the document and reported the incident to the mayor.”

Coolio is a real estate agent.

Council met behind closed doors on July 20 to discuss the event and agreed to take the matter public at its August 10 meeting.

The Council decided that the Council. Coolio’s behavior “does not meet the standard expected by the board and deserves censorship.”

Coolio was immediately removed from all committees, is not permitted to attend conferences or seminars as a district representative or meet with Mitchell or any other district staff.

If he has to meet with staff, he can only do so through the mayor. He is not allowed to meet with staff outside of normal office hours.

He was also ordered to write a letter of apology to Mitchell and the whole council for his actions. This was to be delivered on July 23 at noon.

Neither party responded to iNFOnews.ca’s calls for comment at the time of publication.
