New District Manager for Carson City BLM District

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – The Bureau of Land Management has named Kimberly Dow as Carson City District Manager effective Sunday.

Dow most recently served as the Sierra Front Field Manager for the Carson City BLM District.

“Kim is a respected and proven BLM Nevada leader with a track record for getting things done,” BLM Nevada State Manager Jon Raby said in a statement. “She also has an incredible level of knowledge and diverse experience. We are all thrilled that Kim is leading such an important district for BLM Nevada. »

Dow began her career at the BLM as a volunteer and later became an intern through the Student Career Experience program, the BLM said. After graduating from college, Dow began his lifelong career as a wildlife biologist at BLM’s Folsom field office in California. In 2006, she joined BLM Nevada working in several positions in the Nevada State Office, including management and program analyst, natural resources specialist, fisheries program manager, renewable energy coordinator, and branch manager of renewable resources.

Dow is a California native and graduated from California State University Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology. Dow’s She participates with her family in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and sports.
