Monestime district coordinator appears in court
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. –Miami-Dade County Commissioner’s District Coordinator Jean Monestime appeared in court Friday afternoon.
Evelt Jeudy, accused in a public corruption case, wore an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer read some of the charges.
Attorney Arthur Jones represented Jeudy in bond court. Glazer reduced Jeudy’s bail from $148,000 to $99,000. Jones wanted it reduced further, but Glazer didn’t budge.

Jeudy’s alleged crimes date back to 2016. Monestime did not respond to questions about the case, and the Miami-Dade State’s Attorney’s Office did not issue the arrest warrant.
“As this case is now in the hands of the criminal justice system, I am not free to comment further,” Monestime said in a statement.
