Summary of work
The Coronado Brewing Company has an immediate opening for someone who is motivated, ambitious and ready to make a difference. Qualified candidates must be outgoing, goal-oriented and have a passion for the craft brewing industry. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for managing wholesalers in the assigned territory through leadership and character that includes integrity, honesty, consistency and transparency.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Distributor management:
- Define and monitor the achievement of the sales objectives of the distribution areas, in terms of volume, turnover, market share and distribution.
- Implement an action plan for each distributor, ensuring clear and measurable goals to achieve distribution and volume goals.
- Review progress toward goals monthly with Distributor(s).
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of assigned distributors and make recommendations on order/inventory levels to maximize sales.
- Develop “Preferred Supplier Status” at the Distributor by being recognized as one of the Distributor’s Top Supplier Managers based on contribution to the growth and prosperity of Coronado Brewing Company and the Distributor’s business.
- Build relationships with key individuals in the Distributor(s), such as Owner, President/General Manager, Sales Managers, Supervisors, Sales Reps, Merchandising Manager, Event Coordinator, Operations Manager , Drafts Manager, Pricing Coordinator, Inventory Manager, etc.
- Develop an understanding of how the following operations are performed: point-of-sale orders, sample picking and billing, travel planning, scheduling merchandiser account visits for specialty outlets and large screens, basis for processing distributor invoices, receiving monthly sales reports, scheduling time at weekly/monthly sales meetings, and how sales reps and supervisors are compensated
- Know the prices of all Coronado Brewing Company products as well as the general prices of the top five craft and imported beer competitors in the market.
- Market development:
- Manage, lead, motivate and develop a team of sales professionals, including monitoring KPIs and sales guidelines to drive revenue in the territories designated by the representatives.
- Develop new accounts and maintain current accounts in the region.
- Increase Coronado sales and brand visibility in designated area by opening new accounts, expanding distribution in existing accounts, selling features, creating displays, hosting promotions and using merchandise from point of sale.
- Communication with retail accounts regarding brand awareness, pricing, inventory, events, etc.
- Familiarize yourself with the key decision-makers or decision-making influencers in your market.
- Plan/attend staff promotions/trainings, land new packages and draft placements with regional accounts.
- Visit a minimum of 50 quality account visits per week. Strong desire to be at the market late at night.
- Organize training for servers / bartenders, beer tastings and evening promotions
- · Required Skills/Experience (but not limited to):
- o Must reside in Ventura, Santa Barbara, or San Luis Obispo counties.
- o Desire to pursue a career in sales.
- o 2 to 3 years of experience in the sale of beverages.
- o Solid knowledge and experience of the local market.
- o Highly motivated with an assertive and confident personality.
- o Strong organizational skills and ability to work alone.
- o Solid knowledge of the company, its history and its product offerings.
- o Great judgment and professional maturity.
- o General knowledge of the brewing process.
- o General knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry – market share and product offerings, etc.
- o Excellent communication skills and ability to master the process of selling skills.
- o Knowledge of distributor operations, knowing how to work with distributors and understanding how to work with different sales channels.
- o Must be able to travel.
- o Must be able to work flexible hours/days including weekend events.
- o Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- o Administrative ability to regularly meet the company’s minimum administrative requirements, such as expense reports, monthly summaries, monthly calendar, budget management, daily email responses, weekly call reports, etc
- o Must have a clean driving record (motor vehicle record checks will be performed on applicants).
- o Ability to frequently lift and move cases of beer.
- o Ability to climb, kneel and stoop to frequently organize and display the point of sale.
Compensation: CBC offers a competitive salary, commission, benefits, car allowance. Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. All requests must include salary requirements.
